Dive & Water polo
Swim/dive and water polo team dates: 2017 Key Swim/Dive and Water Polo LFC Team Dates
With two diving boards for instruction, our mixed-ability dive lessons are very popular! Beginners work on safety and basic front and back dives. More advanced divers will learn new, more difficult dives, dependent on individual readiness. Lessons are great preparation and additional training for Dive Team. Minimum age is eight years old by June 1.
Congratulations to our Conference Champion dive team, three years running!
Led by head coach Matt Glimco, our divers also lead the Conference in FUN
To participate in Dive Team, your child must be at least eight years old (as of June 1, 2017) and have either been a member of the team last year or completed LFC dive lessons and passed the assessment - to be held May 30, 2017 at 6pm (rain date June 1 at 6 pm).
At dive team assessment, divers will be asked to demonstrate their current skills. In order to qualify for team, divers must successfully demonstrate that they can perform the required number of dives for their age group. If the diver doesn't have a mastery of the required number of dives for their age group, but shows the ability to learn them during the season, they will qualify for team at the coach's discretion. Our goal is to include as many kids as possible on the team, but first and foremost to keep everyone safe.
Divers who are 10 & under practice Monday-Thursday from 8:00-8:45 am. Those 11 & up practice Monday-Thursday from 9:25-10:10am. A 5-6 pm practice accommodates all ages Monday-Thursday. Fun Fridays are for all ages with practice and doughnuts from 9-10:15am.

dive Team suit
Though not required for participation, team swimsuits and caps are available for purchase through Swimmers Edge, 7532 Janes Avenue in Woodridge, 800-441-7946. The 2017 team suit is the Speedo Pulse Endurance Lite in blue. We will provide each swimmer with one LFC latex swim cap. You also have the option of purchasing silicone caps imprinted with your swimmer’s name.
Team swim suit fitting will be held on April 26, 2017 at LT NORTH campus (in the hallway by the pool) from 5:30-7pm: We will have many suit sizes on hand for trying on, and will have new Spiritwear items available to check sizes for those too!
If you do not know what water polo is, think of it as soccer in the water instead of using your feet, you use your hands. The water polo program is designed to introduce the sport of water polo to athletes 8 years of age and older who are strong swimmers. The co-ed program will emphasize the fun dynamic aspects of the game in a safe, easy to learn environment that is coached by the same friendly faces of the LFC swim coaches and lifeguards.
