The LFC offers swim lessons for nearly every age and ability level. The following are descriptions of lesson types:

Preschool Lessons:  For children 3-4 years old as of June 1, 2011.  The focus is on basic water adjustment and building self-confidence in the water.  Activities may include submerging, front float and back float.

Swim Lessons:  The swim lessons combine both beginning and advanced lessons. Students will be assessed on the first day of lessons and placed In appropriate stations. Beginning stations will introduce students to the front and back float and progress to arm strokes and rhythmic breathing. Advanced stations will introduce backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly and will involve swimming the length of the pool.  Minimum age is 4 years.

Stroke Work Class:   Stroke Work class is designed for the child who has completed advanced swim lessons and is looking for a class one step beyond. It is a perfect fit for the beginning swim team member, or any child interested in improving their strokes. Child must be competent in freestyle and backstroke, and have knowledge of breaststroke and butterfly.   Competitive starts and turns will be introduced. As this class requires a minimum skills level, for the safety of the kids, the coaches will have discretion to move a child back into swim lessons if deemed appropriate. Stroke Work is geared for children 8-12 years of age.
