Here at LFC, junior competitive tennis is an important part of our tennis program for kids of all ages and playing levels.   We are proud of our growing program which helps our young players develop their game while having fun and building friendships with their teammates. Junior players who are ready to experience match play are encouraged to participate.  All team members will have an opportunity to be involved in at least one of the following types of competitive activity:

• Official interclub match play
• informal match play arranged with other clubs
• challenge matches with fellow team members
• practice matches with observation from staff

How to Join:
To be a member of the team you must go to the online registration page and sign up.  There is a $30 fee which covers the cost of the team t-shirt, end of season banquet, and staffing required for team events.

The team is arranged in two levels: 

The “Gold” team are the more advanced players, and in most cases, they will be the players that represent the LFC team at matches against other clubs.

The “Blue” team are the players who are still developing their match play capabilities, and in most cases, they will be involved in more informal, challenge, or practice matches.

Skills Assessment:  Each junior player that joins the team is required to participate in a skills assessment with the coach which will determine his or her placement on the Gold or Blue team and position on the challenge ladder. There will be a mandatory skills assessment (date to be determined). Parents will be notified by e-mail with the results of their player’s placement

Matches against other clubs take place on Friday afternoons at noon. The schedule will be posted as the summer begins

On all Friday afternoons that LFC is not hosting a junior match, all junior team members that are not traveling are encouraged to come and play challenge or practice matches.  Additional informal matches against other teams will be scheduled, and these will be announced as they are arranged.
